Default c6 wiper blades

I had to replace the wiper blades as the rubber was peeling away from the arm.
Is it important to have a driver side wiper with the air wing that is attached on the OEM blade?

Maybe someone else with a little more info can help you out. I have yet to find my wiper control.

Just replaced mine. $11.00 at the dealer. Just go get the new ones and put them on.

I just replaced them with standard NAPA but I saved the wing just in case, curious what others say here.

I want the "air wing" to help prevent wiper float at high LEGAL speeds. I just replaced my blades with some NON OEM blades and had to trim some of the rubber end off on the inside by 1/8" with razor blade and then used the old wiper frames. They charged me $11 each for new blades but did not have air wing. I was told that for the last year that they are now making complete wiper frame and insert as one unit only for sale. Some stores still have some refills left. Pits! like a Corvette tax for EVERYONE!

The air wing helps the wiper stay in contact with the glass at higher speeds. I've never removed mine, so i don't know what is the critical speed. 40? 80? 120?

Well, living in the Seattle area, we use our wipers alot. The wing is very useful at high speeds to keep the wiper in contact with the windshield. At the track, my Porsche, that doesn't have a wing on the wiper, skips at higher speeds. That would be over 90mph. What helps is just using rain x.

When mine needs it, I am going to replace the rubber blades, not the entire arm.

i have gone through 2 set of aftermarket wiper blades and drive my car in the rain because it handles the same as my older cars did in the rain. I have yet to notice a difference. they work flawless at speeds up to 95mph. thats the fastest i have ever driven the car in the rain.

Just replace the blades today. GM part numbers ordered from the local dealer yesterday were driver side- 12335960 passenger side - 12335961. Dealer parts man ordered from supply house and had them overnight. List price $7.50 each. Took maybe 5 minutes to pull the old bades out of the wiper frame and slide the new ones in. Even though there are different part numbers for each side the parts looked identical.

I spent several years working in San Jose and didn't see it rain hard enough or long enough to turn wipers on!

Here in coastal NC we get an average if 60" rain a year...

The drivers side wiper begins to lift and lose contact with the windshield when you are going over 142 mph. But not too many guys drive at that speed when it is raining anyhow. Just make sure you have Rain-X on your windshield and you should be fine!

I use Rain X and hardly have to use wipers. I have switched over to the Bosch Icons and they are great as they conform to the windshield. No air foil and don't notice any difference.
I did keep the original wiper blades with that air attachment with the driver side wiper.
