Default Did something stupid

Was spray painting a small piece of steel in the garage away from my car. Did 3 coats in 30 mins. Next day was nice and sunny so I took the car out. When the sun hit the car I noticed that the car looked dusty but on a closer look I realized it was overspray. Damm!!!! It won't wash off with soap and water. What can I use to get the paint off that won't harm the paint?

Claybar your car. I did the same stupid thing when I painted my calipers on my black C5. The claybar took off all of the overspray with no effect on the paint.

Yup get the claybar out!! This WILL take a long time and you will be sore by the time you are done. Once you are done claying you are obviously going to have to wax the car. When your all done though the finish is going to be amazing!

Easy fix just clay bar it like everyone is saying. Little bit of elbow grease and some of your time it will be good as new. No biggie

Next time wear a paint mask. That paint and dust is going into your lungs. My lungs are just getting over an episode I had in dec.

I had overspray on a previous car and we bought a couple of different claybars before trying Clay Magic clay bars. They seemed to be a little stickier and worked a lot better on removing the overspray. I got mine from AutoZone

The guy in this thread used mineral spirits to remove not just a dusting but a full coat of spray paint from his bumper. I AM NOT RECOMENDING YOU DO THIS but thought it is related to this topic. Proceed at your own risk.
