2008 C6 rear storage area tool bag
Hopefully this subject has not been covered before:
I have been looking for a container to hold a few tools that would fit in the left side rear storage area. I came across a small ballistic nylon bag (part number Stanley 512100) that other members might be interested in. It just fits, if it is not overloaded with stuff. I found that the plastic rim on the storage area is about 11.25 ins long and the bag spec is 12 ins. The folded bag length appears somewhat longer but the base is 12 ins. The interior of the compartment is slightly longer than the rim, about 13.25 ins, so by tilting the bag it will just pass through the compartment opening. The good news it is cheap (I got mine for $12.88 on Amazon) but it is well made and will protect the compartment interior from sharp edges etc as recommended in the user manual. Just don’t overload it with heavy stuff! Check your compartment size if you decide to order - they may be different for other model years. Now if they made them with the Corvette logo....but of course the tax would be +$40

GM does make a similar bag with the C6 emblem on it. It fits in the cubby hole of my 07. I call it my bird sh*t bag. I keep a small spray bottle of distilled water and carwash deleted. A small bottle of water, Z6, windex and some rags.I also keep my jacking pads in there. Saved my paint from the droppings on more that one occasion. Because I have Lloyds mats back there I keep it tucked in the rear corner behind the drivers side with the emblem out. I got it from one of the larger venders. I believe it was 39.99 but now I've seen it for 49.99.

I just filled the space with tools. The bag is a great idea, but for just working around the vette or some other car no bag is needed. Now if your going to walk 2 miles with tools thats another story.
