once you get the bugs removed try this next road trip ... I use it on the front end and the mirror housings. Just went thru South Dakota and Montana and Washington State.. 2000 mile road trip with my Red GS. I got home and just peeled this stuff off and threw it in the garbage. Done - no clean up - no bugs on painted surfaces - wonderful stuff. and no residue glue.

At every gas fill up along the way at least one person asked me what is that stuff on your car ? I told them -- and they said - Damn wish I would have done that! - look at mine!

Pledge or any no-brand furniture polish spray. One step that loosens up the bugs and leaves new wax. The next time the bugs come off even easier. We use it all the time on the leading wing edges of airplanes.

Bottom line is. .. if you can't figure out how to get dead bugs off a car, you have more serious underlying problems.

Some wet towel time (warm water) really softens them up.

So, does the Honda Cleaner/Polish work well on teeth?

Apply a couple hot wet towels, let sit for a few minutes and use the towels to wipe the bugs off. Plexus afterwards to finish cleaning and apply the shine. Been doing this for decades on my motorcycle fairings and cars.

Griot's Garage makes a great bug remover. And if you know you will driving thru bug country, they make a product you can apply to the front of your car that will make it easier to remove them.

A little clarification needed on the Bounce dryer sheet.

Apply wet to a clean bumper to make the bugs easier to remove?

Or use a wet dryer sheet to remove bugs?

Oh yeah, Motul makes some very effective bug remover spray.
Softens them right up with some kind of enzyme action and 'unsticks' them from the paint so they wash off with little effort.

Boy, I've been dreading this one. Here it goes, I'm leaving Montana in a few week with my new all black Z07 heading to Salt Lake cut across 80 to Sacramento. Then down to LA from LA up to Vegas and back home to Montana through SLC an back To Montana.

Whew now I'll catch my breath. So do you know what the bugs are like on this trip? I do, I've made it enough. Now let me start by saying I got Xpel on the leading edge of the car. I'm not going to be able to do any cleaning until I get first to Sacramento then second in LA.

Question is how to manage with the bugs getting bake on?

One other question how does everyone clean out the nooks and cranny in the grille?

I've read so many ways to clean the bugs off. Because it's black I want to get it right the first time. I don't think black will give me a second chance if I screw it up the first time!

Thanks for ant info, Chuck

I have the same issue as came back from Dillon Mt just now.
See my earlier post on Hydrogen Peroxide as it works wonders and does not trash your car.
I have not checked it out yet but understand at the dollar store is a cleaner called Totally Awesome that is supposed to be a wipe on and off cleaner.
Man I just get back to Washington and the gas jumps 70 cents a gallon. Montana is ok.

a few passes with car soap and water, let it sit a minute and keep coming back to it until gone. No need to rub hard. Before you take the next trip, spray some spray wax on bumper and mirrors so the bugs will come off easier.

I just had this problem tonight after a 7 hour drive back home. I gave a liberal coating of invisible glass cleaner on the bumper. Let it soak in for 1 min, then gently used a microfibre to "take off" the first layer. I sprayed a 2nd time and a new cloth and nearly all the bug hard parts and guts were gone with little effort. I did detailing spray on the third pass to ensure no remaining material. I like buying those costco 30 packs for cloths, the dirty ones which are uncleanable from a wash in the machine, I reglate to cleaning rims, underside, leather/dash wipes etc.

How soon should you remove the bugs before etching kicks in? I guess remove them as soon as possible? But if you can't do it right away what will protect the paint from etching. Does quik detailer help, and clearcoat.

Bounce dryer sheets , wet the grill , then wet the dryer sheet in warm soapy water , wipe over bugs and rinse .
The guy I bought my vette from in Louisiana managed a large , R V dealer , he said that's all they use .Those large Motor Coaches and 5th wheels do catch tons of bugs.
