I clearly remember a friend's 1971 454 corvette with white lettered "Grab N Go" tires on it.
Truly ugly tires, but he was the only kid in my high school with a Vette.
That thing was a beast.

I found this thread because I'm looking for RWL tires for my Vette. I think they look great.
Seeing some of the comments in this thread from the typical "Corvette Lifestyle" Vette owners confirms that this would be a good look for the car.

White letter tires
I've seen a few pics on line of some Vettes with white letter tires. I actually like them a lot. I'd love to see some more pics and information on where you bought them, installation, etc.

Back in the sixties and early 70's, and into the early 80's, white letters on Tires were the rage and fad, probably because of the NASCAR Stock Car series and how OEMs were motivated to adhere to NASCAR’s rule stating that at least 500 cars had to be produced, or as many as one car for every make’s dealership in the nation had to be sold to the general public to allow it to be raced in that series.
Back then, the American Car manufacturers had no budgetary restraints, so everything was fair game, and they all tried to build the faster production car to compete for #1.
The rules changed in 1972 to make the cars more equal without those production restrictions, and also the oil crisis brought the "real stock car" Nascar series to an end.
Remember the Roadrunners, GTO's, Dodge Dart, Ford Torino, the Charger and Daytona, Superbirds, Monte Carlo's, and the list go on and on.
The elder members all remember how cool it was to be driving the same cars as NASCAR, with the white letters on the tires, the name of the car on top of the windshield, etc. etc.
Now, unfortunately, it's black wheels and tires, and no pizzazz for the production cars as back in the day.
White raised letters on tires and Disco both died a fast death in the late 70's and into the early 80's, when they were no longer standard or optional on new cars.
They can still be bought, but only in muscle car sizes (14" and 15")

Just last week I saw a white C7 with white "Corvette" letters. Looked better than I would have imagined.
