Part number 15834249 for the Z06 would look great on any corvette. Any chance that can be put onto a stock base car's front bumper?

If you are referring to the plastic splitter that comes standard on the Z06, I think it's molded for the Z06 bumper only, not sure that it would fit a base C6 bumper. Although I have never seen one, there may be someone who has modified one. You might try doing a search, if it's out there, it's bound to show up

As for the ZR1 splitter...I've seen plenty of those.

with St.Char - the base C6 is flat across the bottom of the front fascia, but the GS/Z06/ZR1 front fascia is not flat.

Take a look at the picture below. I just took it out front in the dark, so it's not a great picture, but you can see how the top of the air dam is not flat and I don't think there's any way you could trim it down - it would cut off the flat part on top that has the mounting holes in it.




Also, the piece is much longer/wider than the front of a base C6.

Like St.Char says, there are several forum vendors that sell an aftermarket "splitter" that is just like the ZR1 piece, but designed to fit on the base C6 fascia. I think they're only available in fiberglass, at least from the vendors below.

I think this ZR1 type splitter is the best solution if you want some aero on the front of a base C6. I just don't think you could modify the Z06 piece to fit very well. However, if you want to try, I think it's about $180 shipped from forum vendor Gene Culley ( http://gmpartshouse.com ).

I am not really interested in a body color splitter or anything of that nature but would love to have something in molded black plastic for the front like the z06. I will have to take some measurements when i get my car and see what it looks like but I see the bumped up portion on the z06 that you are talking about so something would have to be modified/changed to make it work. Thanks for the info!

I may be blind but I cannot find a price on this piece. Please pm me a sweet price for the black abs (raw) piece. I suspect the carbon would be more than I am willing to spend but hit me with that price as well please.

If someone made one of these in the factory type plastic material at a reasonable price, I would be all over it. I'm sure many other people would be as well. I would destroy a carbon fiber or fiberglass piece in no time.

I agree with Frank. I would love to see one of these made from the black plastic ABS material. It would be much easier to maintain, You could keep it dressed up with Mother's Back-to-Black, etc.

I wonder if molding the black plastic version would be cheaper than the fiberglass versions.

I am definately having trouble with the $350+ price tags and the material as well. I am looking for the oem black plastic finish so i guess it just wont work out. If the z06 one wasn't wider it almost looks like it could be used upside down.. Not sure if it could be mounted that way and how the angles would work out though. Oh well! Not worth the money to me to do this appearance mod! Thanks for all of the info though.

Just installed the ACI splitter on my base C6. Well made and easy to install. I still have to place the screens behind the openings.
