Default Build Your Own Engine!! It's True...

The word is out today, you can now elect to to co-build your LS9 or LS7 engine with us at Wixom PBC. If you can now select the PBC option when ordering your ZR1 or Z06, you can do the engine build program.

It will be interesting to how many people sign up for this.

WOW! That's one way for GM to make money. Sell you a car and charge you to build your own engine! That sounds just like something the government would do!

So for only 5800 bucks I get to do something GM does for free? I think not.... no freaken way! Sorry but not paying a dime more because they'd probably blame me if something goes wrong...

There must be an engine builder shortage at GM...you are right though. I can see it now.

"sir, we are sorry that the piston rod came through the oil pan, but because you helped build the engine your warranty was invalidated. Oh, and by the way, thanks for the 5800 dollars"

I think for those who got it spend it. What's 5800 more.

It's an option guys. No money out of your pocket.

Some of you are beginning to sound like ricers.

I have enough problems checking my oil, let alone trying to assist in the building of my engine.

Cool idea. Too much money. I would probably prefer to use that kind of dough on a 3 day Bondurant driving school.

Maybe you could sneak a custom camshaft in your suit case and throw it in there when the guy's not looking...

This is the one of the coolest options any manufacturer has ever offered. If you only see it as a GM ripoff then it isn't for you.

Initially no LS3's in this program - but that could probably change if demand is there - just my guess as a PBC engine builder.

Very neat and original idea, but way too much money for assembling a simple push rod.

kind of a cool idea.

However, I can just see it now.

Customer: YAY, I built the engine.................................. ..crap, my wedding ring fell off.

On another note, kind of reminds me of Tom Sawyer and how he got the kids in the town to paint his Aunt's fence for him.

It's the "Stupid" tax. If you are stupid enough to spend it, they are more than willing.

But it reminds me of the sign I once saw at a auto repair shop...

Labor Rates:
$50/hour
$60/hour if you watch
$70/hour if you help

By the way, if you think this is goofy, do a search on Hennessey's program to train mechanics.
