Default GMPP Announces LS9 Supercharger Kit for LS3-Headed Engines

Sweet jesus this I need to save up some money!
I guess if you have a 2011 Grand Sport with F55 suspension, you could have a bolt on ZR1 basically, switch out suspension compenents, upgrade brakes and wallah!

Man, this is making it tough to decide between a new Grand Sport, and a new Z06. I was telling myself, "You know you will never be satisfied with anything but the biggest engine" and "So what if the top doesn't come off, you rarely take the T-tops off on the Trans Am anyway" etc.

Now you could buy a new Grand Sport, swap the wheels to the ZR1-style, install this supercharger kit, and you are done! For thousands less than a Z06, to boot!

Get one of these and you have to also get a high rise hood. Get the Edelbrock S/C and it will fit under any C6 hood. $2,000-$3,000 savings, right there, by using your stock hood..

Don't know, will it? I can get a warranty for the Edelbrock S/C if it's installed by a qualified shop, Like Lingenfelter, etc.

Are you saying that if I put a set of LS3 heads on a '05 with a LS2, and then add the GMPP blower, they are going to warrant the rear end when I blow it.

Isnt the LS9 engine a beefed up LS3? If so youre going to have a hard time get a warranty I would think.

Anyone have a price?

Will it have an OE # like the Edelbrock kit? We shall see...

I knew this had to come around at some point. I kept telling myself that I did not need the Z06 7L motor and someday they would sell the 6.2L ZR1 supercharger aftermarket for the LS3. This is very cool news!

Wonder if you have to reinforce a bunch on stuff on a A6 version. I imagine you cant just "drop" this S/C in a LS3 A6 without some other mods. But i could be wrong.

GM has officially thrown what was the last thing unique about the ZR1 under the bus. Grand Sport+LS9 blower for me please...more power and an equal ride when optioned with the mag shocks for 2011. Why even bother with a ZR1?

ZR1 folks are gonna be pissed.. although there still alot of components to it that a standard GS wont have , like all the weight savings and carbon fiber parts,,but you can order those too. I have a feeling the ZR1 will be done after the C6 run is over, that is why GM is doing this.

You guys who want to upgrade with this kit, just remember as many of you know, modding is a domino effect..you slap on 120hp+ extra that the drive train of the standard GS was not mean to handle, better start saving for a Trans, diff and half-shafts, cluthc etc etc... Then there is the tune and how that is handled and how it effects the warranty.
