Default FOB Not Detected

Cant Start my car, DIC says "FOB not detected". I tried my second FOB, both don't respond. I can hear the doors unlocking and the windows indexing, but when I push the start, zero, and the DIC diplays the message. Any ideas.

Put one of the fobs in the slot in the glove box, with the fob buttons pointed toward the passenger side. See if the car will start. That's what that slot is for. If the car starts that way, the fob batteries probably need replacing.

What year is it? There is a slot in the glove box that will allow you to insert the FOB into it and it will let you start and drive the car on certain years, I think 08 and newer but I could be wrong.

just tried the glove box, and got the same response. What next. BTW, the honking from moving away from the car seems a little weak, could the battery be low, without displaying on the DIC? its a 2009

Yes your car battery could be low. Try to charge the battery for a few hours and give it a try. If I were you I would replace the FOB battery just to be on the safe side, they are about $3.00 a piece so it wont hurt.

Ok, I'll put the charger on and replace the FOB battery. I'll let you know how it turns out. Any chance the car's battery is running low. I accidently let it run down about a week ago but jumped it off and its been running fine since. This is the first time I've had this trouble. I've had the car for over two years and don't drive it regularly, weekends mostly. I also have a Mild to Wild on it, I've heard that sometimes runs the battery down. Any truth to any of it? Thanks for everyone's help.

First off, I don't recommend jump starting a corvette. It has so many electronics that if you had a surge of power from the other vehicle for some reason you could potentially have huge problems with your electronics in your vette. If your battery was completely dead and you did not slow charge it but rather jumped it and let the alternator charge it you could have ruined your battery. Either way try and slow charge it now, if it wont charge fully then you may have to replace the car battery.
