Looking to build a Website for the 2009 Corvette GT1 Championship Editions
Hello GT1 Owners:
I'm I looking to build and complete a web site for the 2009 Corvette GT1 Championship Editions, and to see if there is any interest in having one? I have almost a completed list of the 125 cars with the options, codes and build dates, now it is time to have our own web site for these unique cars if there is enough interest.
*Optional MX0 6-speed Paddle Shift Automatic on Coupe and Convertible
* Optional C2L dual roof package on Coupe
* Optional U3U Navigation System on all.
As we know, Chevrolet introduced the limited production GT1 Championship Edition Corvettes at Sebring International Raceway. The GT1 Championship Edition (Regular Production Option GT1) commemorates the success of Corvette Racing and the Corvette C6.R The package will be available in a yellow base color with black accents, or with a black base paint and yellow accents. Yellow cars will receive black headlights with body colored door handles and a unique carbon fiber engine cover for both models. The Corvette Racing team’s ‘Jake’ logo. Chevy planned Production limited to 100 per each color and body style combination (600 total), It never happen due to GM cut backs and thanks to the tanked economy, actual production was as follows: 125 units Corvettes turned out to be the most limited production special edition cars in all of Corvette history. The rarest being the GT1 Championship Edition 6-speed convertible, with only 3 units made!
Prehaps the corvette forums site can help?
As suggestions on the domain names?
Thinking of the site map as follows i.e.;:
Home
General Information
For sale
Articles
Misc. Inforamtion
Driver stats
Contacts
Any help or ideas will be much appreciated.
Kevin

Jeff & Annette Evans :
Thanks for your interest,
Thrus far, I have all the information codes within your glove box, including a build date. I have pulled the Vin's and it is in a Excel data base.
If anyone has any ideas or can offer some sort of help (group effort)that they would like to share, that is what I'm looking for.
Before I put the time in, I wanted to hear from the owners if they in fact thought it was a great idea. .
Most limited editions corvette have a website i.e.; (C4-ZR1, 93-40th. Anniversary Coupe, 96-Grandsport, etc. I though it would be pretty cool if the GT1 has one as well have a website. .
I'm thinking of =>corvettegt1championship.com

Add a download or link section. Go over to YouTube..there is a nice 5 min walk around by Charles Harlan at a Corvette Corral showing off the GT1's.....lots of it with a black vert. You tube blocks downloading from time to time...but a nice link to that vid would be easy and a nice addition to the site.
WARNING- in the vid Harlan is wearing his cool yellow driving shoes that many Vette Racing fans lust after...Aryton Sienna editions...long unavailable.........

If you don't have a copy of the hero card...I can scan mine. They have since disappeared from Ebay...wish I had bought more than one!
There were some one of a kind cars produced here. The black 6mt vert in Canada and our yellow 6mt vert are one-of-one cars based on all options considered details.
I'm betting we may even find some one of a kind cars in the coupes and Z06 cars once we get the VINs all run through the GMVIS system.

Their was also an article about the history of Jake that should be put on the web-site. I can provide pictures of my GT1 black convertible if you need any. Also Kirk and Harlan from Corvette also have some great input on the car and how the car was supposed to come out in January.

Kevin, We were at Carlisle and saw your car. Went there several times but you were never around. Did you trailer your car to Carlisle or did you drive it there? You had a nice display for information on the cars. Where did you get it done? Sorry we missed you. Do you go there every year. Are you going to Ocean City, MD in October, 2010?

Congratulations Kevin. We also won a celebrity pick award from Michael Yager of Mid American Motorworks. Unfortunately, when we called and talked to Lance, he said there was not a special place that we could park our GT1 championship edition velocity yellow "jake". It's a shame he didn't let us park next to you and there could have been one in each color.

Next event you and I attend together, let's park the cars next to each other (side by side) that would be really awesome. Contact me and I'll make the arrangements.
I did put out a post to see who was going to Carlisle but I had no responds.
