For the former Marines that paved the way for me to enlist and honorably serve my country for 8 years. For the present Marines that are still in the fight, and for the future Marines that want to join and and serve with some of the greatest leaders in the military. I say Happy Birthday Marines!! Proud to be able to call myself a Marine!

My best Marines story: My son in law’s Special Forces unit returned to a forward base in Afghanistan after a tough patrol. No casualties, but several fire fights and some bad @$@$!. They were exhausted and found no mail had been forwarded; no fresh supplies of any kind had been delivered, in other words, a total snafu. The marine unit replacing them had just shown up all clean and sparkling. I’m sure you know there’s a pretty good rivalry between the services (understatement), but with absolutely no hesitation, the Marines split EVERTHING they had with the SF guys, fresh food toiletries, even packaged from home. My son said he’s not ready to let his daughter marry one, but maybe some Marines aren’t so bad. You gotta love those guys. Thanks for your service!

Melting Slicks
We buried my uncle at Arlington about 20 months age. 21 gun salute, horse drawn hearse. He was a colonel, silver star plus much more.
I had my own moment to reflect yesterday.
Thanks to the men and women who sacrifice for the rest of us.
