Default Another launch control question

So the official chevrolet video on youtube explaining launch control says you can just side step the clutch. Has anyone done this? Whats stopping the clutch (or even the drivetrain) from exploding from this?

Although in competition mode the system uses the traction control function to do the launch. The EBCM/PCM work together to control engine torque just enough to provide sufficient wheel spin for maximum traction. The EBCM would determine how much wheel spin was occurring by comparing front and rear wheel speeds. So even though you have the throttle to the floor and dump the clutch the PCM will control torque and keep things from breaking. Basically the same thing a human would do but the car is able to control things faster thus avoiding damage.

Thanks. So I don't do anything fancy with the clutch release? Basically an old fashioned side step and let the spring pop it?
