If you guys don't know, I just had the entire bottom half of my C6 2005 Z51 Engine Rebuilt along with the clutch, crankshaft, bearings, and Torque tube replaced.

My question is how low is low for the oil pressure. Occassionally on a HOT IDLE I get about 20-21 PSI which comes readily up to 35 when I rev just tad.

The reason why my engine had to be worked on was because of a faulty Oil Pump which failed.

My fear is that before this fiasco my car would "Hang" around 26-27 PSI on a HOT Day.

So is this normal? I contacted my chevy dealer and he didn't think too much of it.

26-27psi hot idle is perfectly normal. You need a minimum of 10psi per 1000rpm.

mine drops to 22 or so at hot idle since i added the turbos. when driving it's usually around 40 or so. it's been this way for two years and no issues.

Here's the numbers for our 2009 LS3, right out of the Service Manual:

Idle, hot oil: Min 5 psi
2,000 rpm: Min 18 psi
4,000 rpm: Min 24 psi

Ours is much higher:
idle 180' oil is about 27 psi
idle 230' oil is about 20 psi

That's with Mobil-1 5W-30

Hot idle pressure on my LS7 is 30 psig with oil @ ~200F.

If I saw oil pressure below 10 psi at idle when hot, I'd be headed straight to the dealers.

If you were under warranty, they'd tell you it was within specs.
If you were not under warranty, they'd suggest fixing it for ~$5,000.
