What is a good choice for a hands free bluetooth unit for the pre 09 Vettes? I put on in my old GTO but I didn't want to rip the interior apart to take it back out. I don't want to buy the minutes through onstar.
Hi, do a search for "bluestar" on this forum. Some like it some don't. It replaces the onstar functionality in your car. They also have a website for a little research.
A few months ago I installed the Motorola Bluetooth Car Kit IHF1000 into my 2006 C6. Do a search in the audio folder under gen corvette and you should get some hits.
I'm using the BlueStar unit from CoStar and I really like it. It lets me use all the mirror controls for OnStar to control my phone and I can voice dial any name in my phone by just pressing one button on the mirror.
And yes, they have fixed the bug that was preventing it from shutting down properly. It now shuts of as soon as you open the door and exit the car.

For those without OnStar hardware in their cars, the Parrot bluetooth integrates with the radio. You do need to yank out the center dash to make the connections and hide the unit.
Kid,
Are you sure you need to go into the dash/console. I put mine in the pass footwell fuse area without the aid of a 3rd party harness. I do not have blondestar but do have the bose system. Very easy setup this way.
