Seriously, ANYONE buying a 2011 base Corvette?

I am so weary of these threads.
Opinions are like a**holes. Everyone has one, and they all stink.
I guess I am in the minority by saying that I like all corvettes. They each hold some attraction, and I've never bad mouthed anyone's choice of year or model.
I purchased a 2010 GS for my 5th vette, and couldn't be happier. I simply don't see is as a "Z06 wannabe". It's a different car. Period. I had no illusions of it being a Z06. If I had wanted a Z06, I would have bought one. It's that simple. I also happen to like the "vents" or "gills". Reminds me a bit of a '68-'69. I can take or leave the stripes, whatever. Point is, I made my purchase based on the best fit for me, and no one else.
However, that did not diminish my respect, and admiration for all corvettes, of all years, colors, and models. To all those that only seem to spew hate and disgust please just shut it.

No problem, just wanted to reiterate the actual question. I think I have my answer...maybe 1 person has said they are going to actually order one. That's it!
In a way, I am surprised at how quickly the Corvette has dropped in popularity vs the GS. In another way, I'm not surprised considering how many people started getting the wide-body conversion done after the Z06 came out in 2006.

Hey guys, check out my 1LT base Corvette. An '07 and I love it. Why?
1. Over the past 20+ years I've avoided American-built cars for reasons of quality and reliability. I know that's all (hopefully) behind us and one of the reasons I choose a Corvette
2. For reasons above, I avoided adding a lot of accessories. I would have liked the HUD, but not enough to pay $5300 for the 3LT package that included it.
3. I like the "narrow" body. Only other Corvette owners and a few high school kids can tell the difference anyway. What do I care; I can't see all those wide fenders and scoops from the driver's seat anyway. I bought the car to drive, not to impress others - although even the base model tends to do that anyway.
4. Brand new, the MSRP price was just slightly over $44,000, not including the chrome wheels (add $1870). Talk about value...
5. No payments.
