Leaking coolant for around the radiatir
My 05 is leaking coolant, I discovered it today, drove it home and it didn't over heat, it maintained a temp between 192-205. When I parked it the reserve tank was a bit low. I traced the leak to the left side of the radiator. Not sure if it's the radiator cause it didn't overheat.. Anyone have any insight on what could be? Checked all the hoses no leaks, even checked the water pump, that was replaced last year under warranty

If it is the tank then the rad will have to come out. You need to do some investigating to determine exactly where your leak is. Of course it could be a hose. I think you can buy leak tracing dyes that will work. I'm sure others will come by today with more info. Just stand by.

Some of the late model gm radiators cannot be fixed (due to them being plastic) and would have to be replaced. Hope yours is not like that. keep us posted.

Same thing just happened to me last week. I pulled the radiator and found it was leaking where the plastic tank is joined to the core...I'm waiting on my dewitts to arrive now.

Can you share the difference in cost between a stock replacement and the DeWitts replacement? TIA in you can.

If you order the dewitts from ECS (East Coast Supercharging) you'll actually save $45 by UPGRADING.
Pulling it out wasn't that bad, I actually did it with one hand (broken finger on left hand) by myself. You don't have to disconnect the AC lines, but it would have made things tons easier.

If anyone has a cost effective solution to this problem, I would appreciate a heads up.

I have a 05 z51. Just showed up with same problem. Hairline crack on left in "plastic" side of radiator. I hope Chevrolet saved a bunch by using plastic. Looks like it cannot be fixed. Looking at $749 for a new radiator plus labor. This is my 6th corvette and my 1963 still has the original radiator and it works fine. I'm not pleased.

I just left a post that describes almost exactly what is happening here. I have a small leak somewhere, but have not been able to track it down yet. I was hoping it was a hose fitting, but have not found anything like that...this makes more sense.

I think I'm going to take a shot at some super plastic glue. I've nothing to lose. Some of the new adhesives are pretty awesome and after all the thing is plastic. I'll report back on the results.

You may not get an answer since this thread is from 2010. However, if you do a search, there are lots of threads on rad repair. Use the advance search under search in the red bar above and select C6 General as the category.
