"In honor of jpee"
actually, the idea isn't bad. I always thought the C5 fixed roof coupe (FRC) was interesting, and I drove my friend's '03 Z06. That rear glass was right up there near your head!
I think jbc's rendition is very good, and maybe even better. Trouble is, this would not be an easy thing to accomplish unless it were a true, take off roof from a convertible "chassis." All kinds of certifications needed.
Finally, as to luggage, carrying capacity I think that IS a big issue. Maybe not for everyone, but for quite a few who want to travel or want to put things they buy in their car and still have easy access to it. I have only to think back to the convertibles of C2 and C4 (can't recall what they did with the C3s) and where there was NO trunklid and you accessed everything via the folding seats. And even then, there was little space---and thus was born, "luggage racks" (like the nice examples of wildmanht in Calif. for our C6s which we need only for LOTS of luggage).

I liked the FRC on my C5Z and the trunk was very usable, not sure about the C6 photchop though.
