If you want an auto transmission, go with a 08 or newer. If you want a manual transmission, go with a 2011. It has the new synchronizers.

But there aren't many used 2010's out there because it's so new. Also, you'll have a better selection of 08 models because production numbers were WAY down for 09 & 10.
-- 2008 coupes: 20,030
-- 2009 coupes: 8,737
-- 2010 coupes: 3,054
Anyway, an 08 might be your best bet if some of the year-to-year changes aren't that important to you... see post #5: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-c...to-2010-a.html
Enjoy the hunt!

Generally speaking, the end of the run of any generation has received all the improvements to make it a great car... The '84 was junk, the '96 was excellent. The '97 has some gremlins, by 2004, 99% of them were fixed.. The '05 had it's share of problems (reportedly)... the '6 is better than the 5, 7 better than the 6, so on and so on.
I'd buy an '11 GS!

'08 Z51
'09 Z51
They provide LS3 with good upgrades, best build quality in '08s, and will be collector cars as the last of the Z51s and they have the greater HP of 430.
I had a '06 Z51 and it was just a tad lesser than the '08......
and you can put an E-Froce SC on the LS3 and it becomes unbelieveable....

I don't think it's fair saying any year is better or worse than another. ANY year can have it's share of problems. Even a brand new one right off the showroom floor can have things go wrong in a short time. I would go by the options I wanted, which engine I wanted, mileage, and price in choosing what I want. I myself chose an '05 because 1st I wanted a C6. Second I wanted to pay under $30K. I wanted one in excellent condition with low miles and fully loaded with options. The one I bought had a few more miles than I originally wanted (42K) but the price was right and it met all my other criteria. I could not be happier.

I see where he's coming from, just because you have the money doesn't mean you want to spend it all. Depreciation hits the hardest (when I did my kbb comparison a year ago) just after 3-4 years. Then it loses value slower.
Best years that I've gathered from forum reading: 06,08
I love my 06.
Depreciation logic says shoot for 07, 08.

Avoid the 2005 - first year for C6.
If you can't afford or don't want a new one, get a 2008 or later. In addition to LS-3 engine, significant handling/steering improvements were made in '08. Shift mechanism on manual cars was also improved that year. Good Luck.
