Default Traded My Base 2010 Auto for a 2011 Supersonic Blue Grand Sport

Traded in my 2010 1LT Black Base Auto Corvette for a 2011 Supersonic Blue Grand Sport 3LT Manual with the NPP Exhaust yesterday.
Could not get used to the automatic, also the black always looked dirty as I am in South Florida where it rains often.
Also purchased a 5 year, 100,000 mile warranty as I have a long commute.
Almost went with a 2011 Z06, but I felt the GS was a good compromise, and considerably less money as the Z06 had a big dealer markup.
Pictures coming soon..

Nice upgrade, hopefully you did not get hit too much in the dollars department. I know what you mean when you speak of the Black exterior and the Auto Tranny. Enjoy your new GS.

Haven't actually seen a Supersonic Blue in person. I think I'd like it though.

I've seen some comments on the forum about the GS actually being a little slower than the base coupe due to heavier weight, more rolling resistance, and HP loss secondary to the dry sump system. Chevrolet however advertises the GS as faster to 60 than the base coupe by 2/10 of a second. Is this due to different gearing, higher HP output than stated, or is it BS?
Just curious, either way both cars are fast enough for my purposes and I doubt I could feel the difference of a few tenths of a second.

Congrats! I hope they didn't rake you over the coals too much on the deal. Everytime I consider a manual I just remember my bad left hip.

I agree - what good is having money if you don't enjoy it?

CONGRATS!
