Wolfdogs --- Best Tire Pressure Gauge?
Wolfdogs,
What type/brand of tire pressure gauge would you recommend for home use for someone who has five vehicles (3 Vettes, a truck, & a compact sedan)? I don't race or do anything exotic with them, but I do want to keep the tires properly inflated and I check them frequently.
I don't want the absolute most exotic and most expensive, nor the latest fad from Brookstone, etc. but I am willing to pay a reasonable (?) amount for something that is accurate and reliable.
By the way, I read your advice recently to someone on the forum and changed my TPs to 32 front and 30 rear on the Corvettes.
Thanks for any advice or help you can give me. Say hello to your dog for me. Our beloved Vizsla died six months ago and we miss her terribly.

BMW offers one for about $20.00 that is great. I kept mine for my Vette when I sold my Bimmer. Most dealers stock them.

tell you what...... you pm me your addy, and ill send you 4 pencil type gauges for nothing that are accurate withing .03 psi. Thats what i use, I know the guy that supplies them.
Most pencil types are very accurate that cost less than 10 dollars.. just as accurate as the fancier dial types and etc.

Thank you. Thank you.
What a generous offer! I'll send the PM in just a few minutes. I'll report back after I have had a chance to try them. If you send me a return address, I'll send you a check to your Wolfdogs Rescue organization.
Thanks again,
Colin

Get the cheapest digital pressure gauge you can find, about $10 at any O'Reilly's store. Fits in your console, is accurate within a half pound, and is there when you need it. The pencil style gauges are probably fine too as nobody needs accuracy close than .5 to .5 lb on their pressure gauge.

"In honor of jpee"
Funny you should mention that, Ken. well, maybe not funny, but you know what I mean.....
I probably have 10 left over pencil gauges, some of them really cheaply made with plastic barrels. Everyone say GAG ,or agh. or whate4ver else.
But the mostly metal ones are very accurate compared to the dial gauges I've run them against and the electronic readout ones that I use accutire electronic or some such. I decided to store them in a sock (cleaned first, of course..).

I may as well get something good so long as I am getting one.
Thanks

Has anyone else had my problem?
I've had two digital gauges. Probably pretty cheap. One was from Sears, the other might have been from some Corvette catalogue, with Corvette painted on it.
On both of these, when the initial batteries became discharged, I replaced the batteries with the same as was in there.
And neither gauge would work.
I tested the new batteries for voltage and they test ok.
The first just refused to display anything. The second still displays the Low Battery indicator. Are these things throw-away and don't try to install new batteries?

Radio Shack. Digital gauge with nice case and little light in the tip.
Paid $10.00 on sale (it goes on sale often) and it matches perfectly with the TPMS and more expensive types.
