Difference between GS and Z06 Clutch Pedal Pressure?
I did a search and did not find what I was looking for. If I missed it and this has been covered - sorry.
What is the difference between my 2011 GS clutch pedal and a Z06 clutch pedal?
The Z06 pedal is a lot easier to push down, smoother operation, and just has a lot better feel to me.
Why is there such a difference / what is the difference?
Is there some part I can swap?
Thanks.

I was under the impression that the Base LS3 C6, LS3 GS, and LS7 Z06 all shared the LS7 clutch from the factory in the recent years.
I guess i could be wrong...... But the pedal should feel the same....

that's interesting becuz richierich in selling the LS9 (ZR1) clutch assembly claimed the pedal pressure to put into an LS3 was just about the same. if what you say is correct, then a Z06 is easier/better than both LS3 and LS9. hmmm....

I was comparing my 2011 clutch to a 2008 Z06 clutch that a friend has in our club. He said every C6 Z06 he tried before he purchased his about 3 months ago were the same.
I may be missing something. Or maybe it is just mine that is stiff.
Anyone else compared actual cars and noticed a difference?

I have never felt any difference between the GS and Z06 and I have driven MANY Corvettes over the past few years.
Also, FWIW, some have said after driving my company Callaway GS SC606 Corvette that it has the "best feeling clutch" they ever felt

I recently replaced a 2010 GS Coupe clutch and pressure plate. It's rated at 650 lbs of torque by Luk (the manufacturer) Part numbers are exactly the same for the Z06 so pedal effort is the same. ZR1 has a much beefier double disc clutch with about the same pedal effort.

Mine is just a lot harder to push in. Feels like a hump that you have to get over about 1/4 of the way down. After that it is easier but still nothing like his Z06. Z06 feels easy. Almost like there is no resistance at all.

What's the mileage on the two cars? I notice that with my new GS at 3,000 miles the clutch is becoming smoother and seems to require less force to depress. That could be a function of the clutch breaking in or my leg building up and becoming use to the slight extra pressure.

GS has 3300 miles. Z06 - not sure. But he said that every Z06 he tested to include new ones were the same as his. Very light pressure required.
I am off Friday and I am going to the local dealer to test the clutch pedals. Will let you know what I find.
Beginning to think mine has a problem somewhere.

I took to dealer and they checked and said they could not find a problem.
Anyone know if there is a difference in a 2011 - maybe GM changed something?
I tested one other 2011 clutch on the showroom and it seemed the same as mine.
It is as if there is a hump that you have to get past at about 1/4 the way down. If you use light pressure you can really feel it.

I have driven an 06 vette with an aftermarket clutch. It was soft and smooth. My grand sport has me feeling like i may stall in first sometimes.I have driven clutches my whole life .It does seem a little rough at times. 8000miles.

The C6 uses an overcenter spring on the clutch pedal. When the pedal is up the spring holds the pedal(and throwout bearing clearance) up. When you push down on the clutch peadal you are fighting this spring. Then the spring goes overcenter and the springs helps you push the pedal down.

So that would make sense.
Does removing the spring - like a lot of poeple talk about - make it easier to push or harder?
I know they talk about making it a better feel.
Or does the c5 spring help?
Did they change it in 10 or 11 from what it was in 08?

Used to have an '05 Z51. The clutch was what I would call average. I borrowed my friends '06 Z06, the pedal effort was so easy I thought it was not even connected. When I got my '07 Z06, it was the same; lowest effort clutch that I have ever driven. Now three years later it just seems normal.

Duke/Earl - that is what I am talking about.
Question is - what changed between 06/07 and 11 models?
Is it just the spring is different.
Can someone at a dealership look up the part numbers and see?
