Default Battery maintenance question

Has anyone tried to check or add water to their original battery. I have a 2013 GS with the battery in the rear. seems like if I take the holder that goes across the top off, I may have to disconnect the positive cable to lift what looks like a plastic piece off to expose the cells. Is this correct ?

Most normal (non-AGM) batteries you can add water (distilled). I haven't looked closely at the OEM delco to see if you can pull the caps or not.

As long as the (water/acid) is over the plates you are good, don't fill completely to the top and be careful not to splash it.

Most people do not bother anymore and just replace when they don't keep a charge.

Been a while since I've seen a non sealed battery of any time in these modern rolling computers. I doubt the OP can get to the cells if it's the OEM battery.
