I noticed on the list of top tier retailers that Sunoco Canada is listed by not Sunoco.

I hate to tell you this chief but the Z51 package doesn't demand higher octane fuel. just sayin

The Z51 package is mostly a different suspension, and an oil cooler line. I has nothing much to do with the engine.

I knew there would be some funny comments about the Z51 as soon as I read the original post.

"Top Tier Gas" is a marketing scheme. Buy any premium from a brand name. What is even more important is to buy gas from a high volume station - less chance of water or contamination in tanks.

Z51 definitely needs nitromethane. If it's not available, use avgas. Last resort would be Sunoco 94.

Here's a list of Top Tier stations:
http://www.toptiergas.com/retailers.html

I have an older Shell credit card that gives me 5% back on gas purchases. I think the offer on current cards is 5 cents back per gallon.

It seems like everyone who posted here never "Read The FINE PRINT" in the owners manual

Pg. 67 paragraph 3 sec "C" Item #4 ... "If your C6 is LMB it recommended to use 97 or higher octane as these were built to a Higher Standard than your run of the mill Corvette !!

I think anything over 91 octane is a waste of money, but if you think otherwise go for it!

Well if a z51 takes 109 octane, what does the F55 require?

Oh, and what octane does is require if I have the Bose radio?

I think the way GM thinks and says in my owners manual..

"If the vehicle has the 6.2L V8 engine (VIN Code R) or the
7.0L V8 engine (VIN Code E), use premium unleaded
gasoline with a posted octane rating of 91 or higher. For
best performance, use premium unleaded gasoline with a
posted octane rating of 93."
