LOL, I like this guy, back in the 90's when I had my 72'Buick GS Stage1,I put some 112 racing gas in the 455 and went to cruise night. Cruising the parking lot idling, every ones eyes were burning.
"Top Tier Gas" is a marketing scheme. Buy any premium from a brand name. What is even more important is to buy gas from a high volume station - less chance of water or contamination in tanks.
It seems like everyone who posted here never "Read The FINE PRINT" in the owners manual
Pg. 67 paragraph 3 sec "C" Item #4 ... "If your C6 is LMB it recommended to use 97 or higher octane as these were built to a Higher Standard than your run of the mill Corvette !!
All of these appear to apply to this thread. I think it's time for winter to be over and everyone to be driving their vettes again. Geeeez - this is gonna be a looooooong winter !
I think anything over 91 octane is a waste of money, but if you think otherwise go for it!
I think the way GM thinks and says in my owners manual..
"If the vehicle has the 6.2L V8 engine (VIN Code R) or the
7.0L V8 engine (VIN Code E), use premium unleaded
gasoline with a posted octane rating of 91 or higher. For
best performance, use premium unleaded gasoline with a
posted octane rating of 93."
