Go to the C6 FAQ link above and it has all the old (highly valuable) links. ....and they keep it updated regularly to boot. Used it just now because my rear hatch switch (the one above the license plate) is dying. Turns out, it's a relatively easy and cheap DIY fix! Thank you (again) CorvetteForum!

Default new to C6

I have owned a C3, C4, and C5. Loved my C5. Thinking about buying a C6. What is good / bad about the C6 ? Are there any inherant problems with the C6 ?

  1. I Also owed a c5 (1999 convertible with every option for a convertible). I bought a 2006 C6 3lt convertible this past April. It has only 24k mikes in it.
    1) The harmonic balancer delaminated on it = $900 repair at Che y dealer. I think it’s a common problem with c5s and C6s. Take a look at the balancer while the car is running. If it’s wobbling, it needs to be replaced.
  2. the Power convertible top had an issue of one bow hitting the rear window During both up and down motion. Easy fix though, I did it in 1/2 hr today.
  3. if the car you look at has the nav system. Check to see if the clock is working. If the battery was ever unhooked, there was a glitch in the software that caused the clock to disappear (mine was that way). There’s a fix for it on this forum, but you need a computer that can burn disks OR you can buy a disk with the fix on it via the internet.
  4. ive only driven it a few hundred miles so far but it rides nicer vs the c5. I had run flats on that car whereas this car has Michelin pilots on it.
that’s all I’ve run into so far. Good luck in your search for a C6.

I've owned my 2010 Grand Sport since January 2015.
Only thing I can complain about are the seats are horrible.
I've heard the updated ones in 2012+ are much better but I can tell you I'm not a fan of the seats. My wife finds them uncomfortable enough to complain about them and how we should take the truck

Other than that my trunk release button in the rear of the car has failed 2x and I did have the steering rack replaced along with the EBC but honestly I think the dealership was clueless on this because when it happened again to me someone here on the forum said to try and unplug it and plug it back in. That fixed the issue. Felt like Microsoft had its hands in my car

Finally did it--went to upgrade the lights in the sun visors and the plastic insert came loose.
Those of you who have repaired the sun visors, what's the best approach; super glue, 3M tape, replace the whole thing? Searched the forum and couldn't find the answer.
Also, I removed the mirror from the pillar, complete with the bezel. Will I have trouble putting it back into the pillar or should I remove the bezel, install that and then reinstall the visor?
