Thoughts on 2008 ZHZ, just made for hertz rental?
I was looking at buying a 2008 zhz from a dealer. Upon doing reserch online lots of talk that GM made the car for Hertz rental. Is this information ture?

yes, that is true... its really a sick looking car, but as others on here have brought up solid points before...
What kind of driving does someone do with a Corvette they rent!? You know damn well it was beat on badly! I think there was a thread around somewhere with quite a few ZHZ crashed as well...
If you decide to buy it, id go over the car top to bottom with a fine tooth comb...
personally id still avoid it unless theyre giving it to you for next to nothing!
I'd highly recommend searching "ZHZ" and reading through the other posts, very informative!

Gotta be a lot of hard launches on them I would guess. Low mileage, one owner is probably a better pick. Bought mine with 18k, added the GMPP exteneded warranty (yeah, I know lots of people think I am an idiot for doing that part) and have never looked back
Lots of solid cars for sale in this forum as well.
Good luck.

Alot of the miles on those rental cars are accumulated 1/4 mile at a time. I don't think they will ever appreciate like the old Hertz Shelby cars in the 60's.

The only one I would consider buying, is the one that had been sitting in Hertz' Corporate lobby on display and went up for sale about a year ago. Had like 50 miles on it!
Save yourself the headache and go buy another Vette. Sure, there are owners of ZHZ's here on the forum, and most of them have had no problems, but you're rolling the dice. It was a rental car.

I rented one of these when I went to L.A. last year. The car had 19,XXX on the odo. Cosmetically, it looked like it had 79K. It ran rough. Maybe it was the paddles. I actually felt "sorry" for the car. Hopefully, no one gets stuck with that one. There are probably some good ones out there. But, why take a chance with so many well maintained, single owner Vettes for sale.

I wouldn't buy a used rental even if it was a standard sedan. How many times did you abuse a rental when you had it? Most had scratches and stained interiors and also most were dirty when I picked them up.

this thread is fraught with exageration...
you can talk to people who think they know, or you can talk to people who know...
there's a few of us here... ZHZ Owners Group
some minor issues here and there, but overall, I think most of us are happy with the purchase...
