Default So I bought my 05 vette back :)

short version. traded vette in on 07 silverado crew cab in August, traded silverado back in on the vette on friday.

Well the story starts out back in august when I got a wild hair and decided I needed a truck to drive around. I ended up going to a local GMC dealer that I buy most of my cars from, and they had a one owner 2007 Silverado crew cab lt with 42,000 miles. Well I traded my 05 DSOM with 38,800 miles in on the truck and got 5500.00 cash on top of the trade. I have been driving the truck since August and my old vette has been sitting on their lot, they have had a lot of people look at but nobody ever followed through. Well my truck started to have problems with the transmission and something up front along with the fuel miles kept getting worse. it would average under 12mpg with easy driving and my dad has the same truck but 4x4 and his gets 16.8 in town. So for the past couple weeks I have been talking to the dealer about trading the truck in on something different and kinda joked about my vette. Well the owner of the dealership called me yesterday and said stop by on your lunch hr. I stopped by because I thought maybe he found me a CTS-V. We talked for a bit and in the end I ended up trading my truck in with 50008 miles and 4,800.00 for my old vette with now had 39002 miles. They were asking 28k for the vette and the paper showed I paid 28k for it and got 23195 trade in.

Man I have I missed this car. Its now all cleaned up and sitting in the garage until spring time.
this is when it was traded in

this is it sitting in my garage yesterday

This is the best and happiest story i heard in awhile. So happy for you you were very lucky. Don't let it leave your hands again. Second time around you will appreciate it even more. Nothing like a vette. The silverado is a great 2nd vehicle but doesn't take the place of a vette. What were you thinking ??? Enjoy it all over again. Funny story !

No I went and looked at the BMW's but they were not offering more than 16k trade in on my truck and thats lower than black book, KBB, NADA, and edmunds for poor trade in. That truck was super clean and I said if they would come up to 18k thats the average trade in of all 4 for good condition which I considered my truck in. They would not do it and this trade in I did not loose my *** on. I am sure the dealer made some cash but it felt good paying less in trade in on a 30k car than paying more in trade in on a 21k car.

It was def an unexpected impulse buy. My friends could not believe it when I show up Friday night in my vette. Like NYC6 said I was looking at getting an 06-07 bmw 3 series so this was way out in left field decision.

As long as you are happy that is what is important. Must have felt awesome driving away in YOUR vette huh ? It sure looks good ''at home'' where it belongs !

The vette looks like it belongs in your garage anyways - probably feels great to have a sports again!

I am originally from Quincy and saw this sitting at the dealership Friday morning when I had to come back to town for a funeral. Congrats on getting it back.

Yeah we worked out the deal at 11 and I picked it up at 5 when I got off work. It looks pretty good in my garage with my bike and my buddies bike. only thing missing is my honda rancher ATV thats at my parents house. as you can see its kinda a tight fit with my patio furniture, grill, my gsxr 600 my buddies zx6r.
