I ditched the run flats (VERY happy I did) but it's not a DD either. It's stored all winter so I'm not getting a flat in the winter unless it's in my garage... which is heated anyway
I am going to pick up a tire plug kit, compressor and SLIME to provide a bit more security but it's not something I'm concerned about.
However I probably would NOT have switched to non run flats if the vette was my DD. They do offer imo a high degree of assurance if you get a flat in the middle of no where!

I'm going to use this plug kit along with green slime and an air compressor. Maybe it will pull me through an emergency.

I'm a new owner of a 1998 C5. I read every one of these posts and must question:
For those of you that would repair a tire on the side of the road, do you jack the car to view the affected tire? how can you see where the puncture is? Sounds pretty difficult to me...

Slime Tire Sealant
- Non-flammable
- Cleans out of the tire with water
- Tire-sensor safe
- Great for slow leaks
Tire-sensor safe.
Great for slow leaks and emergency repair.

Someone requested the part number for the GM compressor and sealant kit. Suspect there is one number for both somewhere. Individually the part number for the compressor is 25913642 (about $85 online) and 20927667 ($23) for the sealant. It is my understanding that the sealant in this kit is latex based.

Reading about the topic, I did some search about a product that I had heard before but I can't give any advice because I haven't use it. But sounds interesting here is the link:

Got a can for all my vehicles, hope to never need it
People get killed by changing a tire on the side of the road (especially an interstate)
Also, I would use Quick Spair Tire Inflator (Slime) in a run flat with no air pressure to keep from ruining the tire by driving on it too fast and/or too far, sometimes it unavoidable
