Where do you get your oil changed?

Don't you have a friend that is mechanically inclined that can help and show you how? Doing the small stuff (yes, an oil change is small) can be very satisfying to do on a car that you really enjoy.
Go for it.

I service all my vehicles, my self. That way I know the condition of each vehicle. I can honestly say that I have only a car in a repair shop once in 30 years, and that was because I was out of town.

For 30 years or so I changed all my oil & filters on a variety of vehicles. For the last 15 years, I've been okay with someone else doing it. I do frequent places that have the basement level mechanic and not those with lifts. With the vette, I used the dealer on the last one when I bought it (21k miles). I think it was around $50 with a promotion and took about 15 minutes. I'll go back soon as I'm coming up on a year since then and only 4k more miles.

In my garage. I suggest you buy whatever you need to change your own motor oil (you don't need much) and learn how to do it yourself. It's easy to do; you can be confident the job was done right; and, you'll save a lot of money. I'm sure there's a DIY instructional thread here on the forum. If that's just not an option I'd take it to the dealership before I'd use a quick lube place.

I do my own. Fortunately I work on base and can use the hobby shop's lift and they dispose of the old oil. Auto Zone and Advance offer military discounts so I buy the oil change supplies from them.

I do All my own oil/filter changes. At least that way i know it's done right. I Don't trust Anyone or Any shop to work on my cars. Way to many horror stories from other people with their experiences.
Not hard to do on a Vette. I made a couple of ramps out of wood and also have a couple of low profile jacks.

My own garage on my lift....What is the PITA here is getting filters....I just ordered a case from the dealership at 15 Bucks each...NAPA nor ANYONE IN THIS FORSAKEN town carries them..As a matter of fact NAPA doesnt even have the part number..Can get the normal ones but not the ones required for dry sump engines so I can't get the WIX part number. The WIX part number doesn't corolate to NAPA....They don't make that filter for NAPA. The MOBIL 1 guys said..." whatever" only order them if you buy the whole case.... I can get FRAM filters, I wouldn't use them on a donkey engine. Here is where it gets interesting....The dealership doesn't have them either, suggested we use the standard filter....."Thats why I does it"

I have used the plastic race ramps for all of my cars for the past 10 years or so, no reason to change. Some people around here don't like that they rub the front flexible air dam when you first approach them, but my very steep driveway does that anyway (to the point that I replace mine every year or so).
Resetting the oil life remaining is not like on a old BMW (needing special tools), but just scroll through to "oil life remaining" then hit "reset" then it prompts you (I think) to confirm that you really want to reset it. It's in the owner's manual anyway.

Guy, Guy, Guys!!! Maybe my '06 Z51 MN6 coupe is different than yours but I don’t have to ramp or jack the car up at all... Park on the flat - Turn the wheels all the way to the right and EVERYTHING can be completed (reached) from there. Of my four cars the C6 Corvette is by far the easier. I use Mobil 1 in all of them (Cost for each: $32 w/Mobil 1 filter @ Advance Auto).

I bring my Mobil 1 and filter; he puts on lift (the right way) and changes oil and filter. Cheap, too!

I take my 08 coupe back to my Chevy dealer for an oil change.
However I provide them with the Mobil 1 oil and the AC/Delco oil filter.
They just charge me for the labor.
