Default How do I know if it has the Z51 package

Hello all. I'm new to the forum and am about to be new to corvette ownership. I'm starting to look at used vettes and don't know how to tell whether the car are equipped with the Z51 package or not. Is there a way to tell for a novice like me?

I got the VIN number for a car I will look at tomorrow and put it into compnine. It appears to be accurate on colors, external, interior, top, etc. It said it had the Z51 package but it alos said it was 1 of 1 and thats hard to believe, I've seen other posters indicate the site may not be accurate. Any help would be appreciated.

Rick

Along with all the other RPO codes for options and/or features the car has. A few folks had a hard time finding that white sticker, but it's on the inside of the door, usually on the extreme left side of the door.

Here's a pic of one. Note the middle of the bottom line is "Z51".

The codes are listed alphabetically.

Easy, if your brake rotors have little holes in them you have Z-51 option.

I guess it would be possible that the previous owner changed the rotors to an aftermarket but not too likely.

Or F55 option. Look on the inside glove compartment door for the RPO code Z51 as described in the above posts.

The best way to tell if it's a Z51 is to just feel the awesomeness coming off the Vette.

Not if it's an 07 with the F55 option. Cross-drilled brake rotors now included with F55 Magnetic Selective Ride Control on the 07s.

If it makes a loud squeaking noise from the rear, it's probably a Z51

Mine doesnt squeake, should I take it to the dealer to have it checked. How much do they charge to put the squeake in? After I dust my buddies F55 through the twisties here in the mountains I will take it in.

Most Z51's have grease fittings at the outboard end of the rear tie rods right next to the inside of the brake rotor. A lot of "oil changers" don't know they are there. Maybe you need to lube the bushings.

But you have a Z51, right? I have an 08 coupe with Z51 and 17,000 miles with zero problems and certainly no noise from the rear or into the shop it would go. Should I be aware of something?

Bushings have been lubed, starting to think it's the sway.

And all this time, I thought the way to tell if you had the Z51 option was if you had one of these:

The squeaking comes only with the customer-applied badges.
