Stu I'll find out on Monday when I get in and track you package.
Do me a favor, since I'm responding at 2:05 am Sunday from the house, please call me on Monday as a reminder.

As for the extra fee, typically the additional $10 applies to the west coast. it’s a big ol box.
We do list it on our website.
"*Due to oversize box dimensions, an additional $10 shipping charge will be manually applied to your balance when we actually process your order. So please manually add $10 to your "check out" statement."

Yes it does. You can just pick it up , does not limit your access.

Would this lower the cabin noise on a Vert with headers?

Well, I got my HUD installed yesterday. Had the 6+ hour round trip. Guess what was waiting for me on the porch when I got home? I installed it last night. About the easiest add-on you can get for a Corvette. Haven't driven it yet.
All my planets are now re-aligned.

When I got mine, I kept removing it, driving over a rough stretch and then replacing it and driving back again. It WAS noticeable.

Very evident reduction of noise level. Easy install under the factory carpet behind the seats as per the instructions and the rear mat was cut to perfection. Well worth the $ spent.

So what are the noise reduction numbers. Can someone take some before and after readings with a sound meter? There is an iphone app for it. That would sure help the rest of us decide.

I noticed a great deal of Blockit owners are from either TX or CA. Tire noise is at the top of the list. Must have a lot of lines & concrete roads.

Great to hear!

Back when we originally tested, the drop was about 10db. All done in the dreaded 1500-2000 rpm range. We used a Bruel & Kjaer ( #1 in sound and vibration equipment) Model 2250 Type 1 Sound Level Meter for testing.

Even though the number was impressive, it meant nothing to me until actual people heard the difference and came back with positive responses.
Which is why all of the above is music to my eyes & ears.

Thanks all

Ed

Ed,

How do you think or suspect that this compares with the other style of insulating our cars (other than more labor of course) with the other typical insulation all throughout the interior in all the usual places, plus under the seats, behind the door panels, etc, etc???

Thanks

.

I really don't know the numbers other full sound deadeners produce. Since they are glued to the entire bottom of the floor (front, back, under the seats...etc) it should put up a better number.
But as you mentioned it is labor intensive. You have to take out your interior and rip up your carpet which is really time consuming.
We tell everyone, the Blockit is not the end all be all in sound deadener. This will not turn the car into a caddy. Its designed to take the edge off and reduce cabin noise but installs in seconds..
Since most of the tire noise, exhaust, comes from the rear of the
car, its why the blockit is so effective.

Pilot, is your car "quiet" with the BlockIt? I just installed headers and my wife can't stand the noise. She states that it feels like a sub woofer, the deep base vibrating her ear drums. Will this help???

Neil thats funny.... totally forgot you had a Blockit system in place when we took the car for a spin. No wonder why I said the car was quiet considering ..
Might not be loud but she sure is fast!!

Sounds like your describing "Drone" which is an annoying low frequency.
That is tough to completely eliminate. However the blockit system does help.
Neil has Corsa which are known to not drone.
However I have headers, x pipe, high flow cats to Loud mouths (talk about loud). The Blockit helps big time with my set up. My wife can tolerate it now.
In fact my set up is why I came up with the blockit idea in the first place...

Hopefully Pilotneil will chime in too..

Ed
