Default 3lt??

Just wondering if 3Lt is worth it. I live in Florida, no need for heated seats. Power telescopic not important. Im the only driver so nix the memory. My big issue is HUD. Looks like Im paying alot for it as the other items are a non issue to me. Never had it in a vehicle before. I would think it is a bit of an annoyance.

Does anybody here really use the HUD day to day or is it more of a novelty that gets old quickly?

Sure its a nice F-15 touch but possibly a bit over the top?

Reason Im asking is I originally was going with gray wheels but the polished chrome are looking better and better. I can only spend so much.

So is the HUD useful in a non track Vette or am I better off going for the rims?

The HUD is awesome and once you have it, you will never understand how you lived without it!
By the way doc, where in Fl are you?

I use the heated seats when it gets down to 60. Mmmmm.... heated seats. It only takes a minute to get them up to temp but they are nice. OK, say it. I'm getting soft in my old age.

I am the only driver and I find it very inconvenient when the memory seat doesn't work. It makes getting in and out much easier.

HUD? Like David, I wouldn't want to go without it. It means you don't have to ignore what is going on outside which looking around inside for information. It keeps your attention outside on the road rather than inside on instruments.

If you are stretching yourself so thin you can't afford both 3LT and chrome, then maybe you need to be looking at a less expensive car than a Corvette. It's a car, not a status symbol and not an investment. You shouldn't be mortgaging the farm to buy one.

I didn't think I wanted the HUD either until I started driving it. Now it's one of my favorite features.

As for the heated seats... I drive with the top down in anything over 50 F. I love it; most of my passengers don't. Turn on the heated seats and they stop whining. Of course with the heated seats on I'll gladly drive with the top down in temperatures below freezing (where I live it only gets down to the high 20's/ low 30's in the winter). It's nice to have if you prefer to drive with the top down (or the roof panel off). My top is always down unless I'm only going a few miles.

The HUD is probably the most significant piece of 3LT. It's up to you but I was willing to pay a little more to get it. I haven't been disappointed and use more than the traditional analog gages for speed and RPM -- and sometimes G-Force!!

Farm is paid for!! Just a question of needs vs wants. I am willing to get the big want (Vette). Not so sure about the HUD. Yup for a few $ more a month get 3LT and chrome. Just inquiring. Hey I have an idea. Nix the 3LT go for base coupe, send it to Reeves Callaway and viola Ill be real happy. Oh maybe not different suspension on the coupe. Humm.?

****, sell the farm, buy a condo and get a ZR1. Who wants to buy 10 acre farm in Ocala, Fl. Ill throw in the horses, tractor and F 150 4x4.

Sorry the dogs stay with me.

The various pieces of the 3LT equipment roof are not simple to add after the fact. The wheels on the other hand are easy to add later. So if it comes down to a choice between wheels or 3LT for your budget, I'd recommend going with the 3LT.

However, if the various items in the 3LT group are really not important to you, and you seem to have thought about that, then saving that cost and going for the wheels could be the right call in your case.

3LT is the most popular trim package. Although the HUD can be added later if you so desire.

Love the HUD! Use it all the time. The rest of the package sort of spoils you a little and I like that. Go for it.

I'm in NW FL and I went with the 3LT package on my 06. I have used the heated seats on several occasions. I use the HUD in street mode most of the time and like the ability to see speed and RPM's at a glance. My least used feature is the memory seat. I would order 3LT again.

You can always add HUD. I went for the 3LT as it is a pain to try to upgrade options later. I'm trying to add steering wheel controls for the radio, and it is like jumping through hoops to locate all of the parts. P.I.T.A! Buy it loaded and save the aggrevation, you will love it!

Must have. Tons of posts on here of folks that want to add the HUD. While the heated/adjustable/memory seats may not seem like much, I love them! Eject when you open the door for more room, hit the memory button when you get back in and everything returns....NICE!

I personally think the HUD is a gimmick. I did get a 3lt, but only because I got a good deal on it as I was going to order a 2lt. Try this before you buy it...go to the dealer and drive one with polarized sunglasses on....you will hardly be able to see the HUD anyway. Now maybe it's just my cheap sunglasses from Gander mountain, but if I can't even see the HUD whats the point.

I have the 3LT and enjoy all of the aspects especially the HUD. The memory seats are great and it makes getting in and out so much easier.

When I start looking for my next Corvette it will have the 3LT package too.

Go for the chrome wheels, AND the 3LT! SO WORTH IT. You are buying a special car. Don't short change yourself. Look at resale value to. I never considered any less. Love it!
