Differences in C6s
Can someone answer a couple questions?
Is the new GS the same body as the zo6? no targa? How does it compare handling wise to the zo6?
What's the difference between 2lz and 3lz?
I know I can probably search this but on the phone it's difficult.

I haven't driven either so can't comment on handling.
GS coupe has removable roof panel, Z06 does not. (GS is also available as a convertible.)
3LZ adds stitched leather-covered door panels and upper dashboard.

A Z06 posted the 11th all time fastest lap at Nurburgring. It's a race car. Period.
The GS gives you the wide body look w/ good brakes and a removeable top.
99 times out of 100, the GS is enough car for any enthusiast.

Same brakes and tires so the weight difference would affect the handling (as would the GS 430 HP compared to 505 HP in the Z).

And a fella by that goes by the handle of LaconiaJack will try to tell you that even considering a GS is raw stupidity.
OP, visit GM's website, the comparison article CO Lightfoot linked above, and go test drive them.

Not at all. If you want the wide bodied look, can't afford the Z06, can't shift a manual transmission, want a removable roof panel, or a convertible, the G/S is a perfectly logical choice.

Has NOTHING TO DO with affording a Z06! Depends on what YOU want PERIOD! IF you can afford the GS you can afford the Z06!!

there's a reason the grand sport sells so well....last time i checked it was about ~30-40% of all corvettes ordered.
i think a Z06 is overkill unless your an avid track enthusiast. even a base C6 can land you in jail in about.....12 seconds?

Yes but in the used car market one can get a Z06 for the price of a GS though the Z06 may be a year older or more. My 2010 3k miles GS is about the same money as a 08 Z06 with low miles. Getting a new one is a different story. 20k could be a factor!
