I remember my great great grand pappy spoke of Midland and Johnson being fine radios. He told tales of station wagons with fake wood sides, angelflight disco bell bottoms and places where you drove your car in to watch a movie! You are not converting a C6 into a back to the future transporter by any chance are you? There may have been a step by step forum here on it several months ago.

I searched this out a couple years ago. There is a post linking someone who makes this. I bought one and use the cobra 75 with it.
The unit is built with an assembly that mounts to the muffler attachment points and the frame, and the chrome antenna mount can be disconnected. The frame stays mounted and is invisible when the chrome antenna rod is removed. So when not in use, you do not see anything.

According to the info contained in this thread, it appears Eckler's used to sell this. You'd have to check with them to see if they still do. Not much demand for CB's and antennas in these days of hands free smart phones.

Welcome to the forum. Great 1st post. Lots of helpful info and people on here.
Tell us about your car, post some pictures, and explain what you need the CB for.
Just a word of advise, some people get mad when you dig up old threads from 6 years ago to post vs. creating your own new one.
Others will bitch that people didn't do a search for the info they are asking for and creating useless "new" threads.
take each with a grain of salt, and don't let it bother you.

I use the WAZE app. It tells you where police are, objects in the road, construction, hazards. We just got back from a 7400 mile road trip, and it was a life saver. I highly recommend it.

I stream Waze via Bluetooth through my head unit. It lowers the volume of the music when something is ahead that it needs to announce so I don't have to look at my phone. Nav does the same thing. They work great in conjunction with each other.

name of local club that sells the $45 mount
Have a look at this:
A local club member sells these for $45. No holes and they're polished stainless steel
In the center is a quick disconnect for the CB antenna (the antenna off to the right is a VHF/UHF one for something else).
As the Vette body is plastic, you need what's called a "no ground plane" antenna (or just NGP). Firestick makes 'em and they have several length options. I use their 2 foot one and it works great for what it's needed for.
My suggestion is NOT to buy one from some of the better known Vette Accessory places as, quite honestly, you can buy everything you need for less than half of what they charge via just about any "CB house". For example, you should be able to buy the NGP antenna, the matching cable and quick disconnect for under $60. If you pay more, you're paying too much.
As for radios, there are lots of options. I use a basic Uniden one as all I use the CB for are club driving events. I velco the radio to the one of those between the seat consoles that various mfgs make and power it from the cig lighter in the center console. When I don't need the CB, it's not in the car.

I want to put a radio in my newly acquired C5 and don't want to do a no ground plane antenna. I'd love to check this out if it is C5 compatible.

There’s still something interesting about cb radios in so far as you are transmitting and receiving air to air, radio to radio without the use of a cell phone tower. It’s a radio, old school not a digital network that provides service for a fee
