I got the one year free activation of OnStar for my G6 Ponitac and entered into a drawing for a free GM car. I asked the OnStar dude did the 2005 Corvette come with OnStar. He looked it up and said all Corvettes from 2002 had the OnStar mirror. My 2005 doesn't. The mirror has a compass button indicating which direction I'm driving.
GM is coming out with an OnStar mirror for other than GM cars in June. I might get one for my wife's Hyundai Sonata. Any thoughts why my 2005 doesn't have OnStar?

2005 OnStar was an option...my 05 does not have it either since I declined the option. The blanked area to the right of the other buttons is where the OnStar button would be

my 06 doesnt have it.... 1LT car.... wasnt installed at the factory....

The OnStar operator was wrong. Not all 2005 Corvettes came with it. In model year 2005, OnStar was still an option. If the person who ordered that car from the factory didn't ask for the OnStar option, the car didn't have OnStar or the OnStar mirror.

My '05 does have OnStar but it's the old analog version and it doesn't work. It would cost $15 for the dealer to upgrade it but a 1yr OnStar contract is required.

Not true, my '07 3LT Vert does not have Onstar...thankfully.

In the '07 order guide, it looks like Onstar was an option only on the 3LT and not available on the 1 and 2LT.

My ordered 05 Vert did not have a Onstar mirror. I did not order Onstar!

As an interesting side not, 2006 Z06's didn't even have an option for OnStar..no matter the trim level.
