Default Took a drive and train ride through the desert yesterday.

Boulder City, NV still has the railway that was used to bring workers and supplies to build the Hoover Dam. Now they use it for tourists to ride the same tracks.

Looks like a great day and you got to put some miles on the Vette also. Wifey and I also like to do those little day trips.

I did not get to ride the train but i took a weekend drive out to the Grand Canyon as a recon trip for our Grand Canyon trip on April 15th.

Anyone is welcome to come out with us, see the post on the so. cal site. Here is a pic of old #29, restored in 04 at a cost of $1 million.

This train ride from Williams to the Grand Canyon is about 2 hours, 15 minutes and is normally done by a diesel engine but this train does pull it a few times a year.

Thanks for the photo. I've manufactured parts for several steam engine restorations, including this one, but never saw a finished unit.
