Default Project Z51EXTREME

My vette was backed into at a gas station, a bad thing, but wait… My wife said well you have always wanted to do a wide body kit, I guess now would be the time, now it is great thing. I guess I will keep her another 30 years, a great wife indeed. Oh she also told me I cannot go overboard on the budget; don’t know what she is talking about. All kidding aside I am very fortunate to have a wife that supports my car addictions so much. My son in-law and I are going to do all the work with him doing all the paint. He paints and does hot rods for a living. That is the only way I could attempt to afford what I am doing. We are going to do all over paint job with black strips. Wow paint and supplies are expensive(paint supplies PPG, so far $2500). Now to the project, I am calling the project, Z51extreme, why extreme? The kit I have ordered is from Super Vettes and the one I am getting is the ZR1extreme body kit that is 1.5 wider per side than a standard ZR1, a custom hood and a custom rear diffuser (not Supper Vettes). The wheels will have a custom offset for the extreme kit. I ordered the Nutek’s 305 classic wheels. Backs are 20 x 13 with 345 Invo, the front 19x10.5 with 285 tires. Also I ordered Down South new ergonomic D style steering wheel, of course black and yellow. I never thought I would get a chance to do a project like this.

Congratulations on your accident!

Never thought I would say that.

Looks like your making lemonade (pun intended) from lemons.

Looks like that guy hit your vette pretty hard but you are going to have a great looking vette when you are done with your mods.

Can't wait to see the final pictures. That guy must of backed into you at quite a high speed. I would have been pissed. But, it looks like you and your son-in-law are going to have some fun.

Surprisingly, very slow, It was a large diesel pickup. His truck had no damage. I was laying on the horn and he said he could not hear me. He was very sorry, he is a fellow vette owner a 67 that he drag races. What is amazing is that headlight is $1000. Here is some parts I worked on will waiting for the kit. Supervettes says they are about 30 kits are out there.

Just got back from the paint booth. I am lucky to have a son in-law that can lay paint like this. They look great and have not been color sanded and polished. I was quite surprised when I found out a box of 3000 6" sand paper was @ $80, supplies really add up on complete paint job with premium paint.
First custom body part ,diffuser

just held in place.

Like my paint rack
