91 octane is the norm for premium around here, but a couple of stations(the owner owns a Harley and has a bunch of Harley friends)carry 94 octane ethanol free pure gas.

While the LS2/3's can get away with using 87 octane(91+ octane is recommended, but not required), LS7/9's require a minimum of 91+octane, but 93 is recommended.

93 only. 93 is usally about .20 more than 87 around here. Not that much more. There are several stations around that have 104 at the pump, is that not available except with an additive, where 90 or 91 is max?

91 here in West Texas but from what I understand is that when you gain altitude your need for higher octane goes down. That is why we get only 91 here. Does anyone know if that is correct?

Default What kind of gas do you put in your C6?

I personally have never put anything but 93 in mine.

Thanks everyone in advance for your feedback.

I do not let people with gas in my car.

As for gasoline, I always use a 91 octane (R+M)/2 Top Tier fuel.

Funny. I was going to say "Ethyl" but probably not too many even know what that means.

Why would anyone not use premium in a CORVETTE? If the 20 cents a gallon extra is to much money for someone, they probably should not be driving a high performance sports car. JMO

87 anytime except middle of summer when temps are over 100*.
No issues, timing retard is not noticable and the car runs great.

Shell V-Power 93 only. Damn shame its up to $4.30/gal here!

But if Shell is good enough for MotoGP & F1.. then its good enough for my baby.

Only 87 for six years and 28,000 miles. No pinging or problems. I don't use it for performance just three miles to work.
