Default What kind of gas do you put in your C6?

I'm going to assume 99% of the people who own a C6 only put the 93 octane in it, but was just curious if anyone uses anything less. If I'm not mistaken the manual says you can put 87 in, but might hear a ping, it didn't sound like much of a big deal the way it reads in the manual. I personally have never put anything but 93 in mine.

Thanks everyone in advance for your feedback.

No such thing as 93 here in the mountain west...91 is premium.

93 only as well...(top tier)

prefer Shell V-power, or Chevron/Texaco (for the Techron additive)

We don't have 93 around here anymore, so 91 is all I can use.

The Shell station near my work used to carry 93, but about 2 months ago they dropped it. I'm just happy they're not putting Ethanol in it! (that's pretty common w/ premium in Iowa)

I have run 87 and 93 in my 2011 GS. No difference in fuel economy. No pinging. If I am going to be driving sprited then I put 93 in as it will provide max performance. If I am heading on a trip down the interstate, cruise, back & forth to work, etc... then I use 87 and save a little money.

I will probably get flamed for using 87 but I cannot tell any difference for normal driving.

Be glad you all aren't in Alaska...

Top of the line here is only 90 Octane. But my Vettes have never complained over it.

I switch between 89 and 93. With Mid-grade approaching $4.00/gal, I like
to save some cash where I can.

Haven't seen any difference when running 89, but to each their own.

Hi-Test

Ok, I had to say that. My dad called it that when I was a kid. That 348 Impala only liked the good stuff!
