Fobs not detected RCDLR ???
I am having an issue with my fobs. After reading several post on the issue I’ve came to the conclusion that the RCDLR is probably the problem.
The symptoms are as follows:
1. Getting fob not detected on dash.
2. Either fob will not start the car any longer without placing them in the glove box slot.
3. Both fob batteries were replaced correctly.
3. Both fobs will unlock and lock the doors and trunk buy manually pushing the buttons.
4. Door will not unlock automatically upon advancing towards car.
5. Car battery is good and properly charged.
6. There are no third party electrical devices in the car.
I can purchase the RCDLR for $115 and install myself. Will the car need to got to the dealer for programming ? Also will the car start after I replace it ?
TIA

I don't know if the VIN# is stored within but most everything else does have it in there...so the probability is yes it is...but truly I don't know. Give the dealer a call and ask.

Is the problem only in one location such as only at your house or only at work?
Have you checked for outside radio frequency interference? My '05 was terrible with outside radio frequency, Bank drive ups, neighbors ham radio, CB radios nearby, etc.

I know my Fob will be undetected in my pocket if it is in the same pocket as my iPhone4. I don't know why, but it is reproducible. I have to take it out of that pocket to get the car to recognize it. It might have something to do with cellular signal interference.

From another thread (post #4): http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-t...defective.html
RichieRichZ06 is a supporting vendor... maybe he would tell you what's involved if you have to replace your RCDLR.

Jakedog,
I would call a dealer and ask what they think might need to happen. I would have suggested batteries, but you already replaced those. It never hurts to give them a call and check it out to see.
Let me know if you need me for anything by PM.
Good luck,
Brent

I'm taking my car into get checked tomorrow for THE EXACT same issue. I will post results.
Regarding the auto unlock of the doors, that is deft a user settable setting in the dash using DIC.

Burning Brakes
Well it's confusing because it's an electronic lock. I would say yes once it senses you it "unlocks" itself which just means the door handle will work and the windows will index. I know what you mean though, there is no action just from standing next to the door. I don't think there is a physical lock mechanism, is there?
