Also, for those of you who think that if a little is good, a lot will be great, you are wrong. Too much of certain additives can actually poison the system and cause expensive damage. If you must use an additive, follow the directions. Bottom line, you get all the fuel treatment you need in the fuel you are buying.
Agreed and my mechanic says to run a tank of av gas thru it and that will itself clean anything. Don't really know myself

any thoughts on this part, too?
As noted by others, less fuel to deteriorate while in storage. With the use of ethanol, which has an affinity for water, gas will "gum up" more and in storage, may cause you issues when it's time to crank it back up. My enduro bike came with instructions to drain tank and carb after each race. I was running pump gas (premium) with octane additive and ethanol treatment and, if not drained, I usually had to re-jet due to clogging. Switched to full race gas and now not an issue. Would think a Vette with computer controlled injection wouldn't have the problem but ????

Back in the day of GASOLINE it was better to store the tank full. Now with the Government mandated corn liquor fuel we have to use, it turns to **** after a few months. I would add stabilizer to whatever was in it and hope for the best.

Use seafoam in the tank once or twice a year. We don't have direct fuel injection like the C7 so we don't have to worry about the crappy carbon buildup. I owned a car with direct injection before...never again.

I always use Top Tier fuel (usually Shell or Chevron) and add a bottle of Techron to the fuel tank (and fill-up) when I get the oil changed.

I have used the Lucas treatment every few months in the vette and only use BP and Shell 93 octane. Never had any issues in my high mileage Silverado using Lucas occasionally and BP 87 octane

Living in Nebraska most all of the premium gas has at least 10% ethanol in it as an oxygenator and it is used to raise the octane rating.

I always top of my tank for the winter storage and have never had any problem come spring time when I start her up.

Theres no Chevron around here, but I trust Shell Vpower to have all the cleaning additives I will ever need.

no need, however, I do put Techron once in a while for the gas gauge...what I do recommend though is a few hundred mile run once in a while to keep the engine running clean

Seafoam once a year just before a long trip, so I will use all the gas.

I been using Lucas in my vehicles for many years. Especially when I start a road trip, so I can burn a whole tank through, in one long spray through the injector.
