Driving home today as I pulled up on the window switch for my driver's side window, I noticed that it had the regular first 'click' on the pull, then it also had another 'click' if I pulled a little harder.
This feels a lot like the double up 'click' switch that's in my Nissan Altima, which of course makes the window go all the way up on it's own. Since it had been raining the past few days, I've been driving my Altima a lot, and I instinctively pulled up to the second 'click' after getting the mail from the mailbox on the way in the drive even though I was in the Vette. I never noticed that second switch detent until now.
It's not present on the passenger door switch, nor on the passenger window switch located on the drivers side door, just the drivers window switch has it. Was the C6 supposed to have express-up windows at some point... got the correct switches, but they just never ended up including it?
I'd love to have it, I miss it on the Vette. With it being just a 2-place car, it wouldn't be too dangerous, I wouldn't think.
Does your Vette have a similar double detent window switch?
I've never noticed that "click", but I'm glad to see someone else realizes that something most Civics come with isn't equipped on Chevrolet's flagship car. How about a "cancel" button for the cruise control while we're at it? Fix these two small problems, put in a stereo that's representative of the Corvette name, and to me, the car would be perfect. Small complaints...or issues? You bet, but such trivial little items missed, makes me wonder why GM opted to bypass these creature comforts.
Some would argue it's a sports car and that we're lucky to have express down, let alone power windows.
I would love to have the express up.
If the detent is there, wonder if the contacts are in the switch?

A bunch of complainers....be glad you're not rolling the windows up. I consider not having express-up in the C6 a plus. I have other vehicles with the feature and I don't particularly like it. To each their own I guess.
Honestly I hate express down. If want the window down just a certain amount I have to be careful I don't go into express down mode....
My Hyundai accent DD has a. Key and steering column lock. I miss neither on my vette
Ya know to save weight and de diff what about a power passenger and crank driver?
Now that would be cool and functional.

I don't if it's the same with today's equipment, but back in "the old days" (late 50's - early 60's) Corvette racers in the know would order the power window option because it was lighter that the manual windows.

Hmmm ... I would think a motor would add weight. Albeit probably only 3 pounds total between the two. But, reduced weight ... I don't know.

Um...is it that hard to push the button in a controlled fashion? lol
My XLR-V has express down and up and I've never had a problem.
The C6 is simply behind the times in any creature comforts. People who say otherwise who want to claim it's because it's a sports car are simply making excuses.
Most folks don't realize it's not just the switch. Automakers are forced to put in sensors in the window molding to stop the window if there is something caught in it (head, arm). It just costs more money.
My BMW has express up - if you press on the top of the door (window seal) it stops.
It does seem odd they don't include it on a $50K car.

Didn't know about those sensors. I just assumed the BCM was monitoring the window motor amps, and stopped when it saw an amp spike.
I was Google searching this exact topic the other day and saw some guy on a Camaro forum who was doing custom BCM programming. Anybody heard of this? I would think this is the best bet for getting the feature.
