Good tips, thank you guys.
Joe, did you ever go to that follow-up event at Palm Beach? I decided to stay here and run at our local track to get some baseline numbers and get my feet wet. Also, what's your best et/mph in the quarter and what all is done to the motor/suspension? Thanks so much.

No suspension mods, all stock....all engine mods and best times are in my sig below.

I don't see a sig posted Joe.
Edit: I guess it would help to turn on signatures.
Looks great. I'd love to get up to 450whp and trap in the low 11s and daily drive it. It looks like it will only take a handful of mods to get there. I was shopping around for intakes and was almost set on the new Halltech that is being released in June. Any thoughts on it? Is the Vararam THAT good? I know you have the latter but do you have any subjective opinions on which you think is best?

From what I understand, the Halltech is supposed to address the surging/hesitation issues with the MAF forward design but I haven't gathered much more than that. It certainly looks nice, and the beehive that isolates the filter from the engine bay is nice. I think I'd probably rather just throw some headers and x pipe on it and see some real gains at the wheels. Good info, thanks Joe. I think I'll send Craig a message and gather his opinions before making a decision.
The ease of intake installation versus headers was part of the appeal to. I don't think I'd want to mess with a header swap from my garage. I don't even have the right floor jack to lift the car yet. I still need to pick up the necessary tools to safely work on her.

Pretty decent times for the first time out with your Vette. I am sure you had a great day and a lot of fun, I love drag racing.

Thank you. I had an absolute blast. Our track here has night racing on Thursdays that I'm going attend in 2 weeks. I'm going on vacation this week for Memorial Day but will make sure I hit the track the following Thursday. With cooler air temps and more practice, I'm hoping I can knock out a 12.6 or maybe 12.4xxx if I can learn to 60' for anything.

Joe, I just picked up a Snell approved helmet and I'm thinking about signing up for the Sept 25th Safemotorsports track day in Sebring. Any chance you'll be in the neighborhood?

I can't. I work in a tax office and it's blackout season Aug 1-Sep 15. My birthday is also Sept 24 so the wife is going to let me register for the event as part of my bday present.
Are there any other hpde groups you would recommend?

Other groups friends have run with include Chin Motorsports but they require an instructor until you are signed off for solo. There is also Hooked on Driving but I don't know anything about them.
I think PBIR also offers open track nights, at least they used to.
Do some reading or posting on the autocross section there are som e real experts there.

Good enough. I'm pretty certain I'll be signing up for the Sept 25th class. Let me know if you change your mind. I'd love another vette buddy to chase around the track

Whatcha think Joe?? Who knew I'd be scared to do headers 4 years ago...

Post up a video from your current whip, or actually, your last one since you're still tuning the new one....

Congrats on the passes you put on your car! You talked about Go Pro's and I own several. You can mount them just about anywhere on the car and I've had them stay on well over 165+MPH. Easy to edit the video's and very easy to setup. Here is a pic with them mounted the last time I went out with the car. I have one mounted inside the car and the other outside on the drivers side. Also the video is the same run just 2 different views...
