Default C6 Rotor upgrade Recomendations?

I'd like to replace my rotors (standard, not Z51) with either slotted or crossdrilled rotors. Anybody have good recommendations / experiences with specific brands or vendors? Looking for something that won't crack on an occasional track day... I've already gone to better pads, and plan on SS lines.

Look for a post by Gene Culley @ GM PartsHouse. Z51 drilled rotors, brackets to move your stock C6 calipers out to work with the slightly larger Z51 drilled rotors and GM Ceramic Pads. I did that and love the less dust the ceramic pads offer and the marginal braking but much better look of the drilled Z51 rotors.

About 1/4th the way down the page, look for Z51 Brake Upgrade Kit

Go with the Power Slots, I use them and they're great. Slotted rotors are better than drilled, not to mention they're actually directional unlike the OE drilled rotors. With the SS lines, and good fluid you will notice an improvement for sure.

Well, a bit pricey but a two piece rotor such as the ones DBA has saves weight.

If this were for a daily driven commuter Corvette which rotors would be recommended just plain rotors, slotted or cross drilled?

Unless they are zinc, or cadmium plated, you'll get rust eventually. Before installing, spray the vanes, and hub with a high temp color of your choice.

Don't worry about getting any on the rotor face, the pads will take it off.

If you're not going to track it, it doesn't matter.

I, like you, had the standard brakes on my 2008 C6 LT1, so I used the Baer slotted and drilled rotors from West Coast Corvette. While I had the rotors off I swapped to AC-Delco ceramic pads. The swap was fairly simple, only cost $620 and it gave me the look I wanted, plus keep the brakes close to stock.

Just what I thought but given the same circumstances will any of these rotor types last longer than the other since there is less surface on the cross drilled and slotted rotors?
Standard rotors will last longer?

Or spray them with a high temp clear.

I replaced my worn Z51 rotors and GM ceramic pads with Baer Eradispeed rotors from Mid-America Motor Works and Carbotech 1521 ceramic pads. Expensive, but the Baer's have anodized aluminum centers that save 3-4 lbs of unsprung weight at each corner, and don't rust.

DBA 5000 2 piece are a great deal at less than 400. / pair. Here they are with Carbotech 1521 pads.

Occasional track use is the key I believe. GS/Z06 rotors or Z51s will fade with track use. Better to get a great set of rotors (more $$$) than crash into a wall with no brakes. Ask other Vette owners what they use at events. I know my friends with Z51 rotors will not push their brakes hard on a track. I heard Z06/GS rotors are better but not best if pushed hard.
