problem solved
Installed the 55 watt ballasts for the high beams today. The brights come up to full bright much faster than with the standard 35 watt ballasts. High beams looking at the car from the front are much brighter.
Unfortunately I am not going to get to take the car out for a while to test the lights at night as I took the ECU out to send to Chuck Cow for his cow booster mod (easy to do while the right front tire is off). While I have the car down I am also doing the anti venom mod to the transmission. Probably at least a week before the ECU comes back.
I now have the HID lights on the fogs, low beams and high beams with the 55 watt ballasts on high beams. Let you know what I think in a couple of weeks when everything else comes together.

I installed the HID foglights over a year ago. They continue to be much "bluer" than the standard driving light.
Has anyone else noticed that they "OEM" temp bulbs don't really match the standard driving light? Or is it possible I have a 6k bulb on accident?
Thanks,
Adam

This is an example of the color difference I am seeing.
IMO, this is a 6000k bulb running on a 35W system instead of the 4300k bulb. That is the only explanation for the prominently blue color.

HID install on my 08 C6
Have now had a chance to drive the car quite a bit on back roads at night to see just how effective the install of the HID fogs, low beams and high beams is. These lights are kick ***, particularly after changing from the 35 watt ballasts to 55 watt ballasts on the high beams.

The problem I had with the 35 watt high beams was that when I needed them, I really need them. I live in a rural area and the deer are a real problem on rural roads at night particularly in the spring. With the 35 watt high beams they barely provide as much light as the low beams when first turned on. It took at least 4 to 5 seconds for them to reach full output. The 55 watt ballasts didn't eliminate this delay but they cut it in half as well as providing a lot more light when they reach full output.
I wouldn't have taken the wheels off either to install just the fogs. I was installing all three sets of lights as well as removing the cars ECU from the right wheel well to send off for modification. I also needed to thoroughly clean the wheel wells, brake calipers & brake discs so pulling the wheels was the easier option for me.
Maybe this was just a function of being 70 years old and a lot less limber than you younger guys LOL.
I am really happy with the results and will be installing a set of LED back up lamps from Corvette Mods next.

Glad to hear it worked out the way you wanted. I used the 35 watt fogs as well and am satisfied with the output (a big improvement over stock).

I purchased the 12 LED kit from Corvette Mods, and the LED bulbs to replace the factory reverse lights. Man, what a difference..!! The 12 LED kit replaced the halogen map lights, interior foot well lights, trunk lights, license plate lights, underhood light. A real improvement over factory halogens.

I almost never use my fogs. Mostly because the light output is... anemic at best. What improvement have you seen as far as visibility?
