installed corvettemods hid fog light kit [pics]
this last weekend i installed the corvettemods high intensity discharge (hid) fog light kit. the instructions were good, but one does not need to completely remove the screws under the front bumper and thereafter remove the front portion of the inner fender w/ brake cooling duct. after removing a wheel, remove the pins holding the front portion of the inner fender to gain access to the rear of the fog light housing. just bend it back. i used 3m dual lock velcro to adhere the ballast and the other doo-hickey to the top of the fog light housing (should have been supplied with the kit). i had to use the additional wiring that came with the kit to essentially reverse the polarity of the two wires (not sure why it does not come pre-wired correctly, likely for cross-compatibility). be sure to test your lights before reassembly.
i installed the hid lights on my '10 "base" coupe and am very pleased with the results. for me, the initial appeal was to make the fog lights the same color as the headlights (around 4300k). what is more important is that there is a significant improvement in the light output when driving the vette with headlights and the fog lights. after the install, when i drove home on the highway the road, signs and reflective lane markers were dramatically brighter w/ the fog lights on. this mod is worth the money for aesthetic and safety reasons.

i live in Chicago where the city is very serious about making money any way possible. even the meter maids hand out no-front-plate tickets issued by the "Department of Revenue." i received three no-front-plate tickets in the span of two months... beyond my pain threshhold. the plate is installed on a Top Flight Reproductions removable license plate bracket.

Plus mine also disappears with a flick of a remote button.

Should have mine this week, so I can remove each wheels and access the Fogs? How long should this take once wheels are off? I never use my Fogs because they dont match and I just hate that look. Cant wait to get them on the car probably this weekend !!!!!
