One slip on the gas pedal and my friend / family member is gone. Most people have no idea how fast 600 hp will put a car somewhere that you had not intended it to be.

The only other person to drive mine is my wife, and she hates it. She's too short to see over the hood... She will drive it (under protest) on the interstate when we're traveling together, however.

son, yes, wife, no. Friend? depends on which one.
It really depends on their driving skills and how much respect they show the car (going slow over speed bumps - there are a lot in my neighborhood - taking driveways at an angle, parking away from others, etc.
My wife, god bless her, would shoe-horn the car into the parking space nearest the store.

Yes, I have let several people drive mine, always with me in it though. I enjoy sharing my enthusiasm about these cars with others, so that they can appreciate and hopefully develop a passion themselves.
I've found you have to practically beg people to get on it at all. Most will baby it and say they are scared to break something.
Many people have entered my car as anti-Corvette, once they exit they are fans. I hope I'm contributing to keeping the Corvette alive by extending the fan base.
I'll also give anyone a ride that wants one. Fresh out of high school, I came across a Murcielago Roadster while cruising in my WS6. The guy stopped, talked cars for a good 20 minutes, then offered me a ride. It was an unbelievable experience that opened my eyes and made me strive to one day own a car like that. It was just a half hour out of his day but something I'll never forget. I feel like I owe it to future car lovers(who are a dying breed) everywhere.

Yes children and their spouses and wife if she could drove a stick and a few friends if I'm in the car and various brother inlaws. After I caution them that it will get away from you and leave the traction control on.

Just certain ones. I just got my 2008 coupe yesterday and today I let my 23 year old niece drive it, although her mother suggested I ride with her. She drove my 2006 coupe about 5 or 6 times when I had it.
Only other person to drive my Vettes owns one herself. She's a lady friend who runs a burger place in the next town.
