Service Active Handling
I am getting the "Service Active Handling" message.
Did a little research here on CF and seems some people solved the problem by disconnecting the battery and reconnecting, while others were affected by that recall for 2005 and 2006 models.
However, when I took my 2006 A6 Vert to the dealership after I bought it earlier this year, it had a new battery and the dealership said there were no outstanding recalls on the car. Or at least I THOUGHT he said that.
Any thoughts? I don't see how it could be related to the battery.
It's been about four months on the new battery and the code just started flashing yesterday.
Isn't there a place on the GM website where you can input a VIN and it gives you the affected recalls?
Also, could it be anything else?
Any help is appreciated.

I've never heard of SAH being battery related. Everything I've read says it's a simple fix on the plug under the steering column with a clip that secures it in place. I've also read a few times where a bad wheel speed sensor at one of the front wheels was replaced to fix it.

I just had the SAH warning taken care of on my 2010. It turned out to be the gas pedal (must have a sensor somewhere). But, when researching possible SAH issues on this forum, I remember that some of the earlier C6s had the issue related to the steering wheel column like was mentioned above.

Burning Brakes
The first time I had this about a year and a half ago the dealer performed the upgrade, I think it was a clip to better secure the steering wheel sensor plug. About a month ago it happened again and this time it was the steering wheel sensor that was needed. Both are items that are probably fairly easy to do yourself, I just haven't had the time

I'd advise you to get it looked at. There is a recall on the car for it due to a problem with the connector on the steering wheel position sensor. The recall places a comb like clip in the back of the connector to attempt to tighten up the pins so they make better contact. There have been several reports of cars applying one brake and causing the car to veer suddenly at speed due to this problem, so its not something you want to ignore. I've read accounts where it caused cars to do a complete lane change at speed with no warning.
