Hood Vents

Interesting.
On a C6 I am unsure if hood vents aid engine performance.
Certainly would aid on cool down at idle or when stopped.
Could aid in reducing lift, yet I venture to write that vents over the wheel wells in the fender top would be a better performance mod in that goal to recue lift.
None the less, hood vents do look fantastic.
Again interesting and good luck with your project.

Buddy of mine did this to reduce heat. Simple effective and looks great.

I've never seen a car make as much heat under the hood as a C6, especially when you add headers. A vent may not be needed but it sure couldn't hurt to let some of that heat out, I'd imagine the underhood plastic pieces would last longer.
I've seen some sharp hoods using the new Camaro vent on here, especially painted body color.

No rain tray. I rarely drive in rain and water doesn’t hurt anything.
Nothing fancy underneath. I painted the brackets silver and straightened them out when I painted the vent after.

Honest opinion if is for looks don't do it and if you have added it a Supercharger like I did with an Edelbrock eforce or other brand and want more heat dissipation, don't bother even in taking measurements just go ahead and buy a vented hood. The eforce will be so closed to the hood that you probably will have at the most 1/2" clearance.
