XM Radio Internet App
Anyone take the bait on the recent (to me) promotion of the internet XM radio? I got offered a 7 day free trial. not sure if they know I have XM in car. Anyone get a package deal? Thanks for any insights...

I tried it through my home music system / controller - Sonos. It worked well (and Sonos is really great) and I decided to take the plunge for $25 to add XM Internet.

Just don't give them a credit card, but this is a trap. Because if you don't tell them to cancel ahead of expiration they will automatically renew at full price. Then you will be fighting a collection agency. Better yet if they want to give you an incentive to join, strongly suggest a year at $77 if you are at all interested.

I kinda like XM when I am traveling up country in Maine in my Tahoe...BUT ..I have to tell you that when we got the 08 vert....XM receptioin sucks big time....I never checked to see if it was a problem with the cars receiver or what but every little tree branch hanging over the roadway..blocks the signal...so when my $77 dollar subscription expires this month...I am done with it in the vette.

I have the $77/year deal on my wife's car and added the internet service to it for $2.99 per month. I listen via my iphone in my vette with Kawal's Pal unit, all day at work with my iphone/docking station, an aux cable/iphone in my f-150 and I use an fm transmitter/iphone in my jeep. That's a whole lot of listening for $2.99 a month.

I have XM in my Vert and my Silverado. 5 mo's for 20 bucks!!!! I mark the expiration date on my calendar and call them before then. I then RENEW for 20 bucks again for 5 mo's....that works out to 50 dollars a year for each vehicle. In my book thats a deal in spite of playing the cancellation game twice a year.
I insist on them sending me a invoice for that exact amount and NO OTHER FEES.....so far I have renewed twice.

I have XM in my Escalade. So I got the mobile version (as a second unit) on my iPhone which I use with my PAL in the Vette and on my boat. Now I can always listen to Howard (the only reason I have it)!!!
