Default Mobil 1 synthetic gearlub LS 75w-90

Anyone use this lub? I want to change the diff fluid in my 06 and found this Mobil 1. Label says also for limited slip. This is much cheaper than other lubs I have seen ($8/qt.). What do you advise?
TIA

I used it on my 06 when I was having clunking noises. It solved problem immediately. As soon as you change it do some figure eights on a parking lot to work it in.

I used it. It's a PITA because of the bottle shape. When changing the diff fluid, it doesn't fit between the mufflers, and is difficult to get higher than the fill hole.

I used a 'Flo-tool' to get the fluid into the diff, and placed the bottle in the passenger wheel well to get it higher than the fill port.

It's doable, but not as easy as a standard oil container.

Do you need any additive with Mobile 1?

I've been using it in my C5 and C6 over the past several years without any problems. I didn't add any additives and its been fine.

No. I contacted mobil and they indicated it was not required. Similiar to the GM lube.

It could be that it is the GM lube, Dexron LS... after all, GM is not in the oil refining business, they get it from an oil company.

I tried it when I started experiencing the rear-end chatter. It fixed the problem for about 1500 miles or so and then it came back as bad as before. I then installed the GM LS stuff and haven't had a problem for 15K or so. My vote is to stay factory on this one.

I used it on my 1998 Camero and my 2002 Vette. Make certain to add at least 4oz of an anti slip compound to the oil (I used 8 oz).

I use in on all my vehicles. I've had success. I also use Mobil 1 synthetic grease on my 06 Z51 and my 04 4Runner. I've been using Mobil 1 products for over 20 years.

The latest info on the Mobil One website claims their lub is NOT the same spec as the GM LS 75-90 but it does contain the LS additive, just not as much as the GM lub. I'll price out the GM LS lub and if it isn't too much more than the Mobile One product I'll buy the GM stuff and drain out the factory lub. My '08 with 12K started with the rear-end noise this Spring. I'll do the drain and refill before I head down to Carlisle.

The GM lub was around $18/qt. The synthetic was considerably more. I don't remember the price of the LS additive, but the Mobil 1 was around $8/qt. It might pay to use the Mobil ! and the GM additive. Some of us do like to save money.
